Duncan McGauchie
TW Strategic Principal Consultant Duncan McGauchie brings over 15 years’ experience in the public and private sectors advising and supporting CEO’s, Boards and Senior Ministers on strategic communications and public policy.
This has included developing strategies, providing strategic counsel and assisting with execution of corporate positioning, stakeholder engagement, government relations, business and partnership development, project management, public policy development and advocacy, media engagement, issues and crisis management, investor relations, internal communications, communications training and coaching.
Before establishing TW Strategic Duncan was an Associate Partner in the Melbourne Office of global strategic communications firm Newgate Communications where he advised CEO’s, Boards and senior executives from a range of multinational, national and SME businesses on their strategic communications objectives.
Prior to this role Duncan directed the Northern Development Summit 2014, held in Townsville in partnership between the Australian Davos Connection (ADC Forum) and the Commonwealth Government. In this role Duncan was responsible for all aspects of the event including securing international speakers, developing the summit agenda, securing and overseeing 5 high-profile working groups, identifying and securing partnerships, identifying and securing corporate funding and sponsorship, all media and promotion, ticket sales, logistics, project team management and supporting preparation of the final summit report.
Before joining ADC Forum Duncan spent 9 years as a senior policy advisor to the Victorian Premier and opposition leader across multiple portfolios and later as senior policy advisor and acting chief of staff to the Minister for Education. In addition to detailed policy analysis, development and advocacy required in these roles, Duncan developed highly professional communications and leadership skills.
Duncan graduated from the University of Melbourne with combined LLB and BA (Hons)
